There were up to 3500 (the population of Charleville today) United States Servicemen serving in the area. Many of the sites have been uncovered and you can join a guided tour of the base. Drive your own car (high clearance vehicle preferably) for this experience. Bookings are essential and can be made at the Charleville Cosmos Centre and Information Centre, or by going online and doing it in the comfort of your own home at their website.
